Opinions for best fishing rigs for Florida fish Saltwater?
I need to know which reel you guys thing would be better for Tarpon Cobia and Kingfish in the gulf and Atlantic. Either a 3/0 Penn Senator Special or a Shimano Speed Master. I have lots of fishing experience and techniques. I usually put my weight out and use a clip with live bait. I can not get my 6/0 Penn Senator out far enough because its a shark reel and very hefty so I want to downsize. So tell me what you think.
OHH and it needs to be able to cast really well.
O and Im going off of piers
the Speedmaster would work good. It's fast, and thats important when your fishing around a pier. If money is no object you should also check out the Triton. one of my buddys has a Triton and he swears by them. Or maybe think about a Spinning reel like a Penn 750-950 SSm or a Penn Conquer. i fish a 750 SSm with 14 lb diameter 50# strength braid and it casts very well and i can haul and fight anything that swims with it.
