Okay to wear plastic cufflinks on French cuffs?
I've bought a full-sleeve shirt that has French cuffs (or double cuffs). It came with very basic looking plastic 'cuff-links' though they look more like very small plastic studs. The shirt is white (with checks) and the studs too are white.
Is it okay to wear the shirt as it is, or am I supposed to replace those plastic studs with proper metal cuff-links? Would it look silly if I wore the plastic ones? Or is it that the plastic cuff-links are there to avoid looking too flashy?
I intend to wear the shirt to office on normal working days.
I think you need to replace the plastic with real cuff links and studs - though studs are really intended for a 'formal wear' occasion and would be unusual for an office wear setting - but each to their own!
Of course with the shirt being so formal you will be wearing a neck tie?
If you are wearing studs then a bow tie will work better and still be able to show off the studs.
