based on those, what other books would you suggest (if you have any at all)

I see you've got a couple of Hunter S. Thompson lined up...Fear and Loathing is genius. The great shark hunt is slightly harder going. makes a good bathroom book ;]. If you enjoy those, give Hells Angels a go. Its the gonzo kings first and maybe finest work.
On the off chance you enjoyed A Million Little Pieces (I loathed it with a passion), you might like scar tissue by Anthony Kiedis. Similar kind of waster tries to clean up story. But with added red hot chilli peppers. Truant by Haration Clare is also a similar kind of thing about an English journalist. gets a bit preachy at times though
